ECOVACS Deebot N79 vs iRobot Roomba 960

ECOVACS Deebot N79 vs iRobot Roomba 960

ECOVACS Deebot N79 vs iRobot Roomba 960: The Leading Brands’ Flagships Confrontment

Representing the famous brand that is known for its reliability and functionality, iRobot Roomba 960 stands out by the advanced iAdapt 2.0 navigation technology. It comes with optical sensors, high-efficiency AeroForce filters and innovative dirt detect option. Thus, in comparison of Roomba 960 vs Deebot N79, the vacuum that is made in the USA is:

  • quieter
  • easier to maintain due to large dustbin
  • designed to clean the larger floor areas up to 1500 sq. ft.

As for vacuum suction, it’s difficult to compare 5x power of the 960 model and 1000 pa suction power of the N79 cleaner, but I would suggest that iRobot Roomba is more powerful than its Chinese counterpart. As to N79, it comes with 3 different anti-drop filters, being:

  • designed for longer run
  • lightweight
  • compact

Due to V-shaped brush, it still can clean carpets, removing pet hair. Roomba 960 is able to clean the carpets, as well, despite absence of the beneficial Carpet Boost technology that is peculiar to the more advance iRobot vacuum models. So, Deebot N79 is commonly recommended for pet owners, but it’s not more efficient in carpets cleaning than Roomba 960 that is definitely better in terms of navigation and performance.

Design and Specifications

Both vacuums are specified as gray, but I guess, the model N79 looks more scratch-resistant. It is more lightweight and compact, being able to access the smallest slots under the sofas, etc.

Price and Rating

The vacuum produced by Ecovacs Robotics Company is much more affordable than its counterpart. It’s amazingly popular, while the rating of Roomba 960 model is a bit higher.

Ecovacs Deebot N79 Review

The model N79 is one of the best among all vacuums from Deebot brand. It is affordable, but safe (coming with anti-drop-sensors), lightweight and compact. Customers describe it as reliable, easy-to-setup and slim. But the vacuum is still an entry-level device. It can get stuck on electric cords and stuff, requiring help and maintenance. Additionally, it’s not quite efficient on carpets, and it’s still not able to climb stairs.

iRobot Roomba 960 Review

The 960 model is not the most advanced in the Roomba 900 series. However, deciding which vacuum – Ecovacs N79 or Roomba 960 is the best, I would select Roomba brand, if my budget was sufficient for the purchase, of course. Due to advanced technologies such as iAdapt 2.0, Dirt Detect, AeroForce filter, it cleans both bare floor surface and carpeting perfectly, removing dust, dirt, pet hair and debris quite efficiently. Due to optical and acoustic sensors, it moves smoothly, and, having a large dustbin, the vacuum is easy-to-maintain.
